Joe Philbin Fired, Dan Campbell Interim Head Coach

A couple of days ago, Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin was fired for obvious reasons. The Dolphins were looking weak, and it seemed as if they didn't even want to play football. This was one of the best times for him to be fired since the Dolphins were going on their bye week. This also came after another beat down given to them from the Jets in London. He also deserved to be fired due to all the fans hating both him, and what the team had become. There was high expectations for the Dolphins this year, and they somehow managed to be worse than what they were last year by a lot. Now, tight end coach Dan Campbell, will be stepping in for the head coaching job until the Dolphins find a new coach.

Dan Campbell has looked so far for the Dolphins, as a nice change of pace. He came out stating that the team needs to be a lot tougher. This is definitely true since the Dolphins cannot seem to tackle and get in the backfield. Campbell has been running new drills in practice to even help them tackle better. I trust Campbell can get these guys to be more physical due to him being a former player himself. He also looks like a guy who could play football now if he really tried. Luckily for the Dolphins, they have some time to work on the team with a new coach.

News also came out that the Dolphins fired their defensive coordinator. This needed to happen too, because a once great defense has started to look like they should be playing flag football. The Dolphins will have to find a way to manage these problems because they are last in the AFC East. The Dolphins have a shot at bringing their season back to life, but it will be a tough task. All I know for sure is though, is that these firings were ultimately a step in the right direction for my favorite team, the Miami Dolphins.
