Should Josh Gordon Be Reinstated?

One of the things that the Cleveland Browns had that was not a complete failure was wide receiver Josh Gordon. He was one of the best receivers in the league just a few years ago. He had the promise to be one of the best wide receivers ever. But of course, he threw it all away because of his drug issue off the field.

I find it interesting how Johnny Manziel and Josh Gordan played for the same team while their off the field issues happened. It is not really surprising though because the Cleveland Browns seem to always have the worst luck imaginable.

Ever since Josh Gordon has been kept away from the league, he has been trying to get reinstated. This does raise the question of whether or not he should be reinstated.

I believe that Josh Gordon should get another shot solely on the fact that Manziel is not getting punished for his off the field issues. Josh Gordon has constantly been getting suspended because of his problems, but Johnny Manziel has not. If it were up to me, I would have them both out of the league. Since Johnny Manziel is not getting punished, then I do not believe that Josh Gordon should be punished either.

The NFL Possibly Expanding the Size of the Playoffs

I recently read an article that discussed NFL commissioner Roger Goodell possibly adding two more wildcard teams to the playoff. This is something that many fans want to happen, but I believe that this would be a terrible idea. This is not because I dislike change, but because it could mess up the whole system.

Looking back on the 2015 season, there was a game that proves my viewpoint. The first game played of the playoffs this past season was between the Houston Texans and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Texans had a great defense that carried the offense. Very similar to the Superbowl winning Denver Broncos. However, the Texans were no match for any team in the playoffs. I feel like this relates to all but only a few teams that are in the Wildcard hunt.

It is very weird saying this as a Dolphins fan, because if there was two extra wildcard teams, the Dolphins would have made it in the playoffs two out of the past three seasons. Even when I am talking about the Dolphins, I feel like they would not have a shot in the playoffs. There is a statistic that shows the small amount of success that wildcard teams have in the playoffs, and it is not very good.

Adressing the Dolphins Runningback Situation

The Miami Dolphins were really stupid this past season by not giving Lamar Miller the ball more. They were even stupider to let Lamar Miller go to a different team. That being said, of course the Dolphins are desperate for another running back to pair up with Jay Ajayi. Rumors are circling saying that the Dolphins might go after Knile Davis in a trade.

I think that Knile Davis would be a great player for the Dolphins to acquire. He has proven to be a very solid running back over the years, and he could be exactly what the Dolphins need. The Chiefs used him in a two back system, something that the Dolphins would use him in if he signed with them.

Another running back the Dolphins were eyeing would be Arian Foster, the veteran runningback who played for the Texans. I think that Arian Foster would be a terrible idea for two reasons. One, he seems to always get injured. When he interviewed with the Dolphins this past week he wasn't full healthy. He also missed half of last season as well. The other reason this would be a terrible idea is due to the fact that he is at a really old age for a runningback.

Trade for Colin Kaepernick?

The Denver Broncos are in need of a quarterback. Desperately. Unfortunately for them they were not able to get anyone that great throughout free agency. The Superbowl winning team was looking at a few options, but they did not make anything official.

Colin Kaepernick just got his money guaranteed in San Francisco. This came as a suprise to me because Kaepernick had a huge drop off in his career. I think that in Denver, he would be able to perform great due to the stacked team that is there.  It just so happens, that it might happen.

Even though the money has become guaranteed, Colin Kaepernick has met with the Broncos. This leads me to believe that the Broncos are going to trade to get him. In exchange, the Broncos I will think, will trade draft picks. This allows the 49ers to gain draft picks for a young team for Chip Kelly to work on.

The Cardinals Runningback Situation

The Arizona Cardinals were a great balanced team this past season. They could do it all on both sides of the ball. One of the things they were great at was running the football. This is contributed by a trio of runningbacks throughout the year.

Chris Johnson was the starter when the year began, and he had a rebirth of his career when he was one of the leading rushers through the first half of the season. Chris Johnson was looking great, and he could have had well over a thousand yards if he didn't get hurt. That is what happens when you have age at the runningback position, injuries.

One runningback that isn't talked about that much in Arizona anymore is Andre Ellington. He was pretty solid until he had a drop off year. So now he is the third string runningback.

When Chris Johnson became injured, the rookie David Johnson took his place. David Johnson took the NFL by storm when he was having impressive games every week. He also played well throughout the playoffs. This leaves everyone with one question, what will the Cardinals backfield look like?

I believe the Arizona Cardinals will have David Johnson and Chris Johnson split carries equally. This allows David Johnson to stay healthier, because he is young and they do not want to overwork him at the start of his career.

RG3 Is Now a Cleveland Brown...

The worst franchise in football now has a quarterback. I guess you can call it a franchise now. The Cleveland Browns signed Robert Griffin the Third for a two-year deal.  This might be a good thing for him because of the Browns new coach, Hue Jackson. Hue Jackson is a offensive guru who might be able to help RG3 out. RG3 is a very talented quarterback who just has not done well since his rookie season.

The only problem for RG3 is that the Browns might draft a rookie quarterback. However, I feel like RG3 will still be able to get some playing time regardless of whether they draft a quarterback or not. This could be a new start for RG3 and the Browns organization as a whole.

My only concern about this is that the Browns have a history of being a losing franchise for a half a century. I believe that they can push through it, but it will be hard for them to escape the curse.  This will be an interesting few years for the Browns, but Hue Jackson might be able to do great things here.

The Patriots Gain Martellus Bennett

The Patriots are always one of the best teams in the NFL. Usually they are on the end of getting rid of their players, but they still end up winning. However this year, they made a huge move. The Patriots traded to get one of the best tight ends in football, Martellus Bennett.

This is a very scary signing because the Patriots are now able to run their dual tight end system that they did before Aaron Hernandez was arrested. This probably makes the Patriots the most dangerous team in the NFL. The best tight end in football right now is Rob Gronkowski, the Patriots current tight end. He also might just be the greatest tight end ever. Gronkowski is the reason the Patriots are good on offense nowadays. Now they are adding one of the other great tight ends, and they will go back to their old style of offense. This will most likely make the Patriots have the most deadliest offense in the NFL.

The Patriots other moves this off-season include the beefing up the offensive line that costs them their games last year. As a Dolphins fan, I am really concerned that the Patriots will contribute to ruining the Dolphins season next year.  At the moment, the Patriots are my favorites coming out of the AFC, but I am really hoping that it's wrong.
