The Miami Dolphins: What Happened?

As I have said before, I am a huge Dolphins fan. However, they are one of the toughest franchises to be a fan of because of how inconsistent they are. They lost their second game of the season against the Bills in a blowout lost.

Coming into this season I believed that they were going to be good. They have don nothing but improved skill wise on both offense and defense. When I look at this team, i think that there is no possible way that they can be mediocre. They still find a way to disappoint me though.

Up to this point in the season, the Dolphins have looked horrible on both sides of the ball.  Actually, every single player has seemed to be mediocre besides second year receiver Jarvis Landry.

The main problem with this team though is the coaching staff. The majority of Dolphins fans have been calling for head coach Joe Philbin to be fired for awhile. This includes me because he has been awful. Most of the players have shown no passion, including Philbin. One of the jobs as head coach is to keep the players pumped up which clearly is not being done. I didn't think the Dolphins would be worse then they were last year. Many fans say that they will have another 8-8 season. However, the Dolphins aren't even going to be that good if they keep up this effort. It is a pretty disappointing time to be a Dolphins fan. I hope they can turn it around but the other teams in their division look really good.

Ben Roethlisberger Out, Vick In. Will the Steelers Survive?

One of the best quarterbacks in the league, Big Ben went down with a leg injury. Now the Steelers are hoping it will only be a few weeks until he comes back. Now veteran quarterback Micheal Vick is in.

Vick looked decent when he came in for Ben when he went down. I have faith that the Steelers will still do well with Vick in.

First off, Vick has a ton of experience. Even though he is not starting, Vick knows what he is doing on the field. Vick has been in the league for over a decade and has been able to be one of the flashiest quarterbacks the league has ever seen.

The offence for the Steelers is also really good. Vick was on a not so talented Jets last year. Now he has really good weapons. Antonio Brown is one of the best receivers in the league and Vick will need to utilize him. I believe Vick will be able to get the ball to Brown and that will help win games.

The Steelers also just got back Le'Veon Bell from a suspension. Bell is one of the best running backs in the league and I know that he will be used.

Not to mention, the Steelers defense was looking good against the Rams. They will need this defense which has questions surrounding it to rise to the occasion. I definitely think the Steelers will survive.

Monday Night Football: Packers vs Chiefs (Prediction)

This up and coming Monday Night Football game looks like it might be a good one. One of the powerhouses in the NFC will be taking on a solid team that are a couple of plays away from being undefeated.

The Packers look like they are still in good shape without their star receiver Jordy Nelson. The Packers also have one of the best quarterbacks in the league, Aaron Rodgers. Offensively, the Packers look incredible and they will need to be incredible against the Chiefs in order to win.

As for the Chiefs, they have an offense that looks much improved from last year. I am a fan of tight end Travis Kelce. The Chiefs also have a nice line backing as I have said in the past.

Even though I like how the Chiefs look, I feel like the Packers will be too much for them to handle. As long as Aaron Rodgers is the quarterback for the Packers, it is really tough to pick against them.

Final Score Prediction: 30-20 Packers

Team Championship Wins As Individual Achievments

There has been something that has always upset me as a fan of many different sports. This is the idea of one person winning a championship in a team sport. In many sports, fans use  championship victories as a reason as to why one player is better than another. Two sports where this really sticks out is football, and basketball.

In football, many people argue about who the greatest quarterbacks if all time are. Two of the greatest ever are Joe Montana, and Tom Brady. While I agree that they are some of the best ever, listening to the argument between fans gives me a huge headache. These quarterbacks get treated as gods, but they are not the only reason their team is successful. Both of these quarterbacks have been on four championship winning teams. Many fans act like these players are the only ones who play and that they win games on there own. This is horrible thinking though because football is a team sport. This is also the reason why many people criticize Peyton Manning and Dan Marino. Both Manning and Marino have not been on many championship winning teams and they are deemed not as good because of it.

This argument is also used by some basketball fans. I have heard people argue which player is greater by championship wins.

I just wanted to get this out there that this logic is horrible. Teams win games, not one player.

Sunday Night Football Prediction: Lions vs Broncos

The Sunday Night Football Game is just about to start and I thought that I need to make a correct prediction, so here it goes.

The Denver Broncos are at Detroit against the Lions which makes me lean towards Lions a little bit. The Lions are yet to get a win this season while Broncos are undefeated. The Lions do have some good weapons though.

When I look at the Lions, Calvin Johnson always sticks out to me. He isn't the best receiver in the league anymore, but he is definitely a top five receiver.

As for the Broncos, they have a good offense with a much improved defense. Peyton Manning still looks like he can get the job done, even though he is not what he once was. Overall, I am picking the Broncos to win this game because they seem like the overall better team.

Final Score Prediction: 21-17 Broncos

Thursday Night Football: Giants vs Redskins (Prediction)

Week 3 in the NFL begins tonight with a divisional matchup between two mediocre teams, the Redskins and the Giants. The Redskins are coming into this game with a 1-1 record while the Giants have an 0-2 record.

I feel as if the Giants have been shooting themselves in the foot at the end of games to lose them. This franchise seems to be on a down slope. The Giants are more than likely going to be mediocre for the rest of the season.

The Redskins are a team with an identity crisis. Most of the talk in Washington surrounds the quarterback situation there. Especially since there are rumors floating around saying that there is tension between RG3 and Kirk Cousins (which I don't believe is true). However their performances have not seemed to be as dreadful as the Giants.

Ultimately, I predict that the Redskins will beat the Giants in a close game. Even though both teams have flaws, I feel like I can put more trust in the Redskins than I can the Giants.

Final Score Prediction: 24-20 Redskins

Explanation of Why I Am A Miami Dolphins Fan

This is kind of a cute story. My dad has and always will be a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. When I was growing up, he was trying to infect my head with the horrible thoughts of being a Cowboys fan. I used to wear Dallas Cowboys stuff and root for them until I was about the age of five. Many of my friends back when I was little were fans of their own team. I thought about it, and I figured that being a fan of your own team that is not your dad's is a trait of being a grown up. I went to my dad and said "I want to be a big boy now. This means that I want to be a fan of my own team".

My dad laughed at this and agreed to show me the logos of all the teams in the NFL. I looked through the logos and tried to find a team that nobody I knew was a fan of. My favorite animal is a dolphin, so this was destiny. I told my dad "this logo looks so cool. I want to be a fan of this team".

For the past decade I have been following the Miami Dolphins. I love my Dolphins, even though they are one of the most inconsistent teams in the NFL. I will be a Dolphins fan for the rest of my life.

AFC Playoff Predictions For the 2015 NFL Season

After seeing week 1 and half of week 2 in the NFL, I felt like it would be a great time to make predictions for who is making the playoffs.

Winner of the AFC North: Pittsburgh Steelers
I feel like the Steelers are the best team in the AFC North because they have an amazing offense that I would trust more then any other offense in this division. I feel like they won't win the division by that many games however.

Winner of the AFC East: New England Patriots
I am a Miami Dolphins fan so I cannot stand the Patriots. Every other team in the AFC East stepped up but until any team actually dethrones the Patriots, I cannot pick against them. They are the reigning Superbowl champs after all...

Winner of the AFC South: Indianapolis Colts
Even though the Colts were not impressive in week 1, they have one of the easiest schedules in the league. All of the other teams in their division will be lucky to get more than eight wins this season.

Winner of the AFC West: Denver Broncos
This was a very tough decision. There has been a lot of controversy regarding the Denver Broncos this season. Two of the issues with the Broncos are concerning the new offensive scheme, and Peyton Manning's age. Kubiak's scheme hasn't seemed to do well but whenever they let Peyton Manning run the offense, they seem to do well. Many people seem to be questioning Manning's arm strength. After watching both Bronco's games, his arm seemed pretty well. He hasn't been under throwing receivers which is a good thing. The Chiefs and Chargers look like solid teams, but I believe the Broncos will find a way to win the division.

Wild Card #1: Buffalo Bills
The Bills look good on both sides of the ball. Tyrod Taylor seems like he will be a pretty solid QB. Lesean Mccoy will be huge for the Bills offense. The backbone of the Bills offense will be Mccoy. They also picked up Charles Clay who is a tight end. The Bills defense looks like it is one of the best in the league too.

Wild Card #2: Kansas City Chiefs
It was very tough for to pick the second wild card spot. There are so many talented teams in the AFC. I picked the Chiefs because both their defense, and offense look solid. They have one of the best running backs in the league in Jamaal Charles, and their defense is very good. They have an awesome line-backing core.

The Patriots will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs, with a first round bye. I predict that the AFC Championship game will be between the Patriots and the Broncos. This game will be hyped up due to the quarterbacks for each team. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are two of the greatest ever. I think that this will sadly be Manning's last game before he retires because of his age. The Patriots will end up making it to the Superbowl after a close championship game against the Broncos.
Colts VS Jets. Who Wins?

Before this NFL season started I was believing that the Colts were going to be one of the big powerhouses in the AFC. The backbone to the Colts recently has been their quarterback Andrew Luck. Luck has managed to get better every single season and many believe that he is a top tier quarterback in the NFL. Based on how the Colts played last week against the Bills, I am staring to have my doubts about them. The Bills improved and beat the Colts but the Colts are supposed to be great.

The Jets on the other hand, had a very impressive game last week against the Browns. The Jets have also gathered a nasty defense in the off-season. I expect the Jets defense to have a good performance. I think that this game will be very close but also low scoring.

I believe that that this close game will be edged out by the Colts. I mainly feel that they are going to win because I cannot picture a team as good as the Colts starting off the season 0-2.

The Final Score (Prediction): 24-20  Colts

Will the Dallas Cowboys Make the Playoffs Without Dez Bryant?

The Dallas Cowboys Will Find A Way To Make The Playoffs

The Dallas Cowboys had a very successful year in 2014 even though many people believed that the Cowboys would not be that good. I was one of those people believing that Dallas would only have a few wins. Fortunately for Dallas, their running back Demarco Murray had a incredible year running behind the best offensive line in football. This offensive line is like a brick wall to run into. I was a little concerned when I found out that the Cowboys were not going to keep Murray. Instead, the Cowboys went with one of the best wide receivers in football Dez Bryant. Now that Dez is injured and may not come back for the rest of the season, I still believe that the Dallas Cowboys will find a way to make the playoffs.

Reasons for believing Dallas will make the playoffs is based on their schedule and how they performed in week 1. Even without Dez Bryant, the Cowboys managed to hang on to beat the New York Giants.

The Cowboys still have the best offensive line in football as well. The whole offense is based around managing the game with the offensive line. The only issue with doing this, is that Demarco Murray is now in an Eagle's uniform. Joseph Randle will need to manage to fill the shows of Demarco Murray.

The Cowboys division is very weak as well. The Cowboys are now 1-0 after beating New York, which is one of their division rivals. The Giants do not have a very impressive team either. JPP is still in need of bouncing back after losing his finger in a firework accident. Another team in the Cowboy's division is the Washington Redskins. The Redskins just came off of a loss to my favorite team, the Miami Dolphins. I do not believe that the Redskins can make much noise with Kirk Cousins as the starting quarterback. The Redskins offensive line will cost them many games this season in my opinion. The last team in this division is the only other team in this division who somewhat impresses me, the Philadelphia Eagles. I feel as if both the Cowboys and the Eagles will be somewhat similar in how well they perform this season. My only concern with the Eagles is that they lost to the Falcons who didn't impress me last season.

All and all, I feel like Dallas can get past these teams and make the playoffs. However, I do not believe the Cowboys will do much in the playoffs.
