RG3 Is Now a Cleveland Brown...

The worst franchise in football now has a quarterback. I guess you can call it a franchise now. The Cleveland Browns signed Robert Griffin the Third for a two-year deal.  This might be a good thing for him because of the Browns new coach, Hue Jackson. Hue Jackson is a offensive guru who might be able to help RG3 out. RG3 is a very talented quarterback who just has not done well since his rookie season.

The only problem for RG3 is that the Browns might draft a rookie quarterback. However, I feel like RG3 will still be able to get some playing time regardless of whether they draft a quarterback or not. This could be a new start for RG3 and the Browns organization as a whole.

My only concern about this is that the Browns have a history of being a losing franchise for a half a century. I believe that they can push through it, but it will be hard for them to escape the curse.  This will be an interesting few years for the Browns, but Hue Jackson might be able to do great things here.

The Patriots Gain Martellus Bennett

The Patriots are always one of the best teams in the NFL. Usually they are on the end of getting rid of their players, but they still end up winning. However this year, they made a huge move. The Patriots traded to get one of the best tight ends in football, Martellus Bennett.

This is a very scary signing because the Patriots are now able to run their dual tight end system that they did before Aaron Hernandez was arrested. This probably makes the Patriots the most dangerous team in the NFL. The best tight end in football right now is Rob Gronkowski, the Patriots current tight end. He also might just be the greatest tight end ever. Gronkowski is the reason the Patriots are good on offense nowadays. Now they are adding one of the other great tight ends, and they will go back to their old style of offense. This will most likely make the Patriots have the most deadliest offense in the NFL.

The Patriots other moves this off-season include the beefing up the offensive line that costs them their games last year. As a Dolphins fan, I am really concerned that the Patriots will contribute to ruining the Dolphins season next year.  At the moment, the Patriots are my favorites coming out of the AFC, but I am really hoping that it's wrong.

NFL Free Agency: Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins seem to be a team every year that tries to win free agency. Case in point, last year they made Ndamukong Suh the richest defensive player ever. This years free agency has changed the team quite a bit, and I will give my opinion on some of the moves the Dolphins have made.

Swapping picks with the Eagles, the Dolphins acquired Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso. The Dolphins desperately needed a new corner, and Byron Maxwell is someone who fits the scheme of the Dolphins defense very well. He is coming off of a mediocre year with the Eagles, but he was incredible when he played with the Seahawks. I think that Maxwell was a much needed upgrade to a mediocre secondary. The Dolphins also gained linebacker Kiko Alonso to the team. Kiko Alonso is a great player who can't stay healthy. He was one of the best defensive players in the NFL a few years ago, but he has fallen off due to injuries. My biggest concern about this trade is that the Dolphins might not be able to get runningback Ezikiel Elliot in the draft due to swapping picks. This could be the only downfall about this trade, but overall the players filled some much needed gaps in the defense.

The Dolphins also signed a new defensive end in Mario Williams. Williams is another player who had a down year last year, but he fits the scheme of the Dolphins defense as well. This makes the Dolphins defensive line looked stacked on paper, with Cameron Wake on the left, Ndamukong Suh in the middle, and now Mario Williams on the right. Mario Williams is pretty older now, but he should make an impact on the Dolphins very quickly.

Overall, I feel like the Dolphins had a solid free agency so far. Many analyst are blasting the moves that the Dolphins made, but I feel like they filled gaps that were need to be filled without spending too much money. The worst part of this free agency was the Dolphins losing Lamar Miller to the Houston Texans, but I feel like the new acquisitions on defense balance it out.
