What Happened to the San Fransico 49ers?

If you run down NFL history, one of the most respected franchises of all time is the San Fransisco 49ers. Over the years they have had many Superbow championships, and also had some of the greatest players to walk the planet. In the last decade they have showed flashes of greatness, but what happened?

The 49ers who had great veterans just a few years ago managed to make it to three straight NFC Championship games, one of those resulting to a Superbowl trip which they lost. Many people in the franchise seemed to have lost hope. As a result of this they let go one of the best coaches in the league in Jim
Harbaugh.

Once Jim Harbaugh was let go, many people were starting to lose hope. This is when a ton of their players started to retire. Some were due to age, and others retired due to health concerns. The once good team was starting to fall apart. The 49ers next coach would be Jim Tomsula, who was an underahiever who only gave them five wins in the next season.

Now comes the off-season. The 49ers said they were going to keep Colin Kaepernick. Then a few days later he requested a trade. This organization is turning into a mess, and guy who they are hoping will fix that is new head coach Chip Kelly. Chip Kelly has a bad track record at the moment, but he may be able to get wins for this team. It may take awhile but the 49ers have a slim shot of being good in a few years. The first thing they need to worry about is a franchise quarterback, because it does not look like Kaepernick will be the starting quarterback come next season.

In all honestly, it is a shame what has happened to this team. I am not a fan of them, but it is just amazing to see what has transpired to them over the past few years.

Warriors beat Thunder in OT Thriller!

As i said in my last post, the Warriors are the best team in basketball. They were able to back that statement up with one of the most incredible regular season games you will ever see. Here were a few of my takeaways.

1. The Thunder looked as if they were going to be able to beat the Warriors after dominating for a good portion of the game. They were up by eleven points at one point. This could raise some concern for them because not being able to finsih off the best team is basketball could be huge come playoff time.

2. Steph Curry just backed up another thing I said in my last post, that is being the MVP. Steph Curry in this game was phenominal, racking up in unbelieveable amount of threes. He managed to tie the record for most threes in a single game. The game winning shot came in overtime with a few seconds remaining. That shot, a very deep three point shot from Steph Curry. This just makes it easier to say he is the best shooter I have ever seen, and the best offensive player in basketball at the moment.

3. The Warriors also look like they are ready for the playoffs. I do not believe that any team will be capable of beating them in a series come playoff time. I am definatley predicting that the Golden State Warriors will be repeat champions this year.

Is Steph Curry the Unanimous NBA MVP?

The Golden State Warriors are the reigning NBA Finals Champions for a good reason. Offensively, they are just flat out better than anybody else. It helps that they have the previous three point shooting champion and the newly crowned three point champion on their team. Klay Thompson is a great player, but their is a better player than him on the Warriors. This would be the newest basketball sensation that has taken the league by storm, Steph Curry.

The Warriors last night beat my favorite basketball team the Heat in what was a fantastic game. Dwayne Wade played great, and it started to look like he was going to take over this game. That's when Steph Curry came up clutch with a few 3-pointers to end up pulling out the win in Miami. This was just one of the many things Steph Curry has managed to do this season. I mean, the Warriors have that record for a reason.

Steph Curry is the best shooter in the league, and possibly the greatest shooter of all time. In my time of watching basketball, I have never seen a better shooter than Steph Curry.  He manages to make so many crazy 3-point shots, it is just incredible. He also has great handles that pairs up nicely with is shooting. He is averaging over 30 points a game, and has quickly moved up to being the best offensive player in the league.

I believe that Steph Curry is the MVP, even though there is one person who still has a chance. Statistically, he is having the greatest year out of any player in NBA history. He is phenomenal and it has become really hard to pick against the Warriors this year as a whole. I think we may be seeing a repeat for champions this year unless somebody finds a way to stop this team and more importantly, Steph Curry.

Dolphins Rookie Class

The Miami Dolphins did not have a good year for showcasing their rookies. However, this was not really their fault. Injuries were what held them back. However I am going to analyze the top two rookies the Dolphins accumulated.

Devante Parker:

Devante Parker is going to be great next year. People who are tied with the Dolphins say that Parker practically has glue for hands and he catches everything. He had foot surgery before the season started and didn't get much playing time until the last few games of the season. When he id play, he was the best receiver one the Dolphins. I think next year he is going to break out.

Jay Ajayi:

The Dolphins have a rookie runningback who has a lot of power, something that they really needed. This guy was supposed to be taken in the Draft much earlier but didn't due to a leg injury that could shorten his career. When he was backing up Lamar Miller, he played solid. I think that t=he should e fine next year if the Dolphins do not get Lamar Miller back.

My Opinion On NFL Players Retiring

Ever since the season ended many NFL players have become retiring. Usually this happens every year, just not to this extent. This is why I will give a rundown on some of the players who have retired or are going to retire.

Charles Woodson:
Charles Woodson announced mid-season that he would be retiring. This was a pretty emotional and feel good retirement. This one does not surprise me since Woodson was one of the oldest players in the game. However, he still played great even though he was so old. The worst part about Woodson's retirement is that he was on the Raiders and they are a great young team that could be really good in the next few years.

Marshawn Lynch:
Marshawn Lynch announced his retirement after he came back to the Seahawks against the Panthers and had a mediocre performance. This one surprised me a little bit more than Woodson's. Wherever he would go he would probably end up getting paid a lot. He was also still an elite running back as well. I don't question his decision because he is set for life with money and was geting up there in age for a running back.

Calvin Johnson:
I do not think that he is officially retired yet, but Calvin Johnson has been rumored to retire. He has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL for a long time and might be retiring because he is sick of football. Many people close to him have said this. He is also playing for the Lions who have not been good ever since he has been there as well.

Jared Allen:
Jared Allen has been a veteran for a long time and was traded to the Panthers mid-season. That's is why this is shocking to me. The Panthers have a good chance to win a Superbowl ring, an he retired. I couldn't believe that he retired.

Heath Miller:
This one was also shocking to me because the Steelers have a good chance for a Superbowl run next year. They will be getting Bell and Brown back healthy next year and should be a great team. This one may hurt the Steelers.

Peyton Manning:
Finally we get to Peyton Manning. The legendary quarterback finally got his second Superbowl ring and will most likely retire. I am more surprised that it has taken him this long to announce it. I would say he could comeback, but I do not think that would be a good idea for him.

Lamar Miller and the Stupidity of the Dolphins Organization

2015 was a depressing year for the Dolphin's and their fans. Since I am a Dolphins fan, I was sucked into this depressing year. There were a lot of reasons for this year being depressing, but to mw their was one thing that stood out amongst the rest. This was the underutilization of Lamar Miller.

Now the Dolphins offense was definitely underwhelming when you look at the talent that they have.  Ryan Tannehill has proven to at least be a solid quarterback. The Dolphins also have a great young receiving core. In the offseason they also acquired former probowl tight end Jordan Cameron. The only part of the Dolphins offense that is not so great is the offensive line.

The runningback for the Dolphins, Lamar Miller, came off of a great year where he rushed for over a thousand yards and averaged over five yards per carry. That stat line is incredible, almost Hall of Fame like.  He is also at a very young age for a runningback. Odds are he is going to be very good the next year, right?

Then comes the season. Lamar Miller played well, in pretty much the first half of every game. You may wonder, "why doesn't he play well in the second half?". The answer is simple. The Miami Dolphins have managed to have three different headcoaches who have all underutilized Lamar Miller. The Dolphins lost many games this season just due to not giving Miller the ball when they needed to.  Lamar Miller had games where he had many yards and multiple touchdowns in just the first half, that is until they did not give him the ball. For example, when the Dolphins played the Giants on Monday Night Football Lamar Miller had two touchdowns and a majority of the Dolphins yards on offense. Then the coaching staff wanted to take the ball out of his hands.

Now Lamar Miller is a free agent. It has come out that the Dolphins want to re-sign him which could get potentially interesting.  The Dolphins also want to keep both of their star defensive end, Cameron Wake and Oliver Vernon. This leaves the Dolphins with a lot of cap issues. Part of me want Lamar Miller to stay because our new headcoach Adam Gase might actually utilize him. Part of me also wants him to leave because it seems as if he is wasting his career with the Dolphins.

Bears Not Keeping Matt Forte

Matt Forte will not be staying with the team that it seems like he has been on forever. This has come as a shock to some people, but it really isn't that uprisings. The Bears have a nice young running back there to take his place.

There are a couple places that come to mind that could really use Forte as their runningback.

1. The Cowboys
Dallas still has the best offensive line in the NFL. That being said, they still need a reliable runningback to be behind that line. I think that the Cowboys could afford Matt Forte and it would be a great place for him at this point in his career.

2. The Patriots
The Patriots somehow managed to make it to the AFC Championship game with all of their injuries. However, they could have easily made it further if they could establish a running game. That being said, it would not come as a surprise to me if they decided to take Matt Forte and give him a shot at a championship ring.

3. The Dolphins
This one is kind of a long shot, but the Dolphins will probably be in need of a runningback this year. It would make me so happy if the Dolphins managed to bring him in after what he was able to do for the Bears over the years.

Why Does Cam Newton Get So Much Hate?

The Superbowl just finished a week ago and the Denver Broncos won. This was a upset since the Panthers have been the best team the whole year. Something that I have seen transpire the whole week is the ongoing hate for Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.

A lot of people in the media contribute this hate to racism. However, I believe this is not the reason people show their dislike for Cam Newton.

One of the main reasons for Cam Newton getting hate is because how good he was this year. In this past season Cam Newton by far was the best quarterback in the NFL. This is something that football teams seem to despise, success. Unless a football fan is a fan of a successful team,  successful players and teams get hatred. Take the Patriots for example. The New England Patriots have been the most successful team over the last 15 years.  They are also the most hated team in the NFL.

The other thing that Cam Newton does is the dancing. When Cam Newton scores and wins, he rubs it in the face of the people who lose. It also does not help that he does not take losing very well. All of this contributes to the hate Cam Newton gets. I am not one of these people though, I actually like him.

The Miami Dolphins Draft Needs

Now that the season is over, the hype for next season begins. One of the biggest events of the offseason is the draft. This is really important for many teams, and for the Dolphins to have a shot next year at making the playoffs, they will need it.

The Dolphins every year seem to make really poor draft decisions, which ironically falls under the long list of poor decisions the Dolphins make in the offseason. This year will show whether or not the general managers can actually make goo decisions. Basically their are a few key positions that the Dolphins need to fix and the draft would help them out.

Linebackers-
I would think after so many years of the Dolphins line backing core not being able to perform at NFL level that they would finally decide that they should probably fix it. Last year the major weakness of the Dolphins defense was the linebackers. The stacked defensive line needs at least some help from the linebackers in order to stop the run and rush the passer. This continues to be a position that they flat out ignore, and I will be legitimately annoyed if they decide not to draft their this year.

Defensive Backs-
The secondary for the Dolphins last year took a step back, for a few reasons. One is a lack of talent. Brent Grimes had an off year that I believe is due to age. With him not playing well, the Dolphins secondary looks mediocre. Reshad Jones is a superstar but has to carry the load.  If the Dolphins could snag a good corner, their defense could turn into an elite one.

Offensive Line-
Ever since the bullying scandal that imploded the Dolphins locker room a few years ago, the Dolphins have had one of the worst offensive lines in the year. Ryan Tannehill has been the most sacked quarterback in the NFL since coming into the league, which is downright terrible. His career is going to be shortened at the rate they are going now.  Ryan Tannehill needs more time in the pocket, and the wholes for the running game need to  actually be there.

Runningback-
This could potentially where the Dolphins could really struggle next year. I think that Lamar Miller is a great runningback that is not being utilized correctly. He will be a free agent this offseason, and I doubt he will want to re-sign with the Dolphins. There will also be some teams willing to pay Miller a lot of money. This is why the Dolphins need a good all around back. Rookie Jay Ajayi looked  impressive, but the Dolphins need a runningback with good breakaway speed.

Superbowl 50: Broncos VS Panthers (Prediction)

Superbowl 50 is finally among us. This has been long awaited after this pretty crazy NFL season. The Carolina Panthers will be taking on the Denver Broncos in what might be Peyton Manning's last game before he retires.

I'll start with the Carolina Panthers who are the heavy favorites coming into this game. They are easily the best team in the league. After going 15-1 in the regular season, they came into the playoffs and just beat down two of the best teams in the NFL.  Cam Newton will be the MVP, and the whole Panthers offense has clicked this season.  Cam Newton has proved that he can beat you passing the ball and running the ball. He is the only quarterback that  I have  ever seen be able to both run over and jump over defenders. The Carolina offensive line has been so good at creating holes for runningback Jonathan Stewart, ad so  good at protecting Cam  Newton. Cam Newton has all of the time in the world to sit in the pocket and make reads. Ted Ginn Jr. will  be able to create space and I think you can now start to reliably depend on  him to catch it.  Funchess has also been great and I think he will continue to be great. You can also never forget about Greg Olsen, who has quicky become one of the best tight ends in the league. If Carolina can get the running game going with Jonathan Stewart, I bet the Panthers will be able to put up  points.

Carolina's defense has also been incredible since hitting the postseason.  Their defensive backs is not their strong suit but Josh Norman  is still an elite  cornerback. The Panthers defensive line can do what is asked pretty easily. The biggest part of the Carolina defense is the linebacking core. Luke Keuchly is the best intercepting linebacker since coming into the NFL. There are questions about Carolina's left outside linebacker Thomas Davis and whether or not he will be able to play. He broke his arm in the NFC Championship game. He keeps saying he is going to play so that's what I am counting on. With  him, that Carolina defense is a legit threat to the Broncos.

The Denver Broncos offense looked pretty solid against the Patriots. In the first half. The Bronco's offense has been having a lot of questions being asked about it since Peyton Manning is old. He looked really good last week though. He missed a few throws but it looked like he was putting some juice behind it. This means throw power should not be an issue for Peyton Manning. He can also help the running game out with his high football intelligence. The Broncos should be able to stay in this game if they do not turn the football over. C.J Anderson and Ronnie Hillman will need to have a good game as well. What I am most concerned about regarding the Bronco's offense is their receivers dropping passes. As long as Thomas, Sanders and the other Bronco targets hold onto the ball, then they should do alright. The problem is they might not be able to keep up with the Panthers offense.

The Denver Broncos have the best defense in the NFL. What  they managed to do to the Patriots was incredible. They have and incredible secondary , defensive  line, and easily the best  linebacking core in the NFL. The Broncos have Aquib Talib, Chris Harris Jr., and Bradley Roby.  all of them  are great cornerbacks. They won't need to  have extra guys in  coverage because of this. They  also have a great safety in T.J Ward. Von Miller in my opinion, is the best pass rusher in the NFL. He tortured Tom Brady in the AFC Championship game along with another great  pass rushing linebacker Demarcus Ware. It will be interesting to  see how this defense handles the best offense in the NFL that is the Carolina Panthers.

The outcome of this game will be interesting because I have no idea what to expect. If I had to put money on one team though, it would be the Carolina Panthers. They are so good at nearly everything that it is hard to pick against them. That is why  I am picking them to win it all.

31-21
Superbowl Champions: The  Carolina Panthers
